Why does fostering matter?

There are so many wonderful reasons to foster, but here are some just to name a few!

  • Providing a foster home is crucial to our mission because it means a kitten is off the streets and safe. Depending on the kitten’s age, it can be life or death out there exposed to the elements.

  • Fostering can truly be life changing not just for the kitten but for you too! When you foster, you are witnessing the kitten grow up, even if it is for a short period of time. Just seeing them realize that they are safe with you is incredibly rewarding and heart warming.

  • Our team may not know what every kitten is like as soon as we meet them. We need to know their personalities to find them forever homes. With the kitten being in a foster home, the foster parent is able to provide information to us and to potential adopters.

  • Whether you want to test out the waters or just want to help out our rescue, fostering can be either a short or long term commitment of fun and kitten cuddles!

  • Sadly, we do come across kittens that may need some medical intervention, but to ensure their best recovery, they need to be in a warm, loving, and caring home! They need to know they are wanted in this world.

What are the steps to foster?

  • Are you able to provide the kitten:

    • A safe, clean, and caring environment?

    • Monitor their physical and mental wellbeing?

    • Transport them to any vet appointments, adoption events, etc.?

    • Allow them a room away from other animals for at least 10 days to decompress?

Fostering FAQ’s

  • Since we are fully donation based, we may or may not have the items needed to fully supply you. If you are in the position that you can obtain supplies like food and litter, that would mean the world to us and the kittens.

  • Absolutely not! We have a vet that we partner with to make sure our kittens are taken care of! We do not expect any assistance in that realm other than if they need to be transported to and from a vet appointment.

  • We ask that you keep your foster for a week minimum. If the kitten does not thrive in your particular household, or if something comes up, just let us know as soon as possible and we will find a solution.

  • Pending the kitten does not have an active adoption process/application, the foster parent has first dibs! It has happened to the best of us! Sometimes you simply cannot help but to fall in love with a foster pet. When you know that they are supposed to be in your family, you just know!
